Parent Information night on Personal Safety
for children in grades K-3
Monday, January 6th, 2014
5:00 to 6:30 pm
Please join us for a presentation by Robin Castle of Prevent Child Abuse Vermont to preview their curriculum “Care for Kids.” Cat Fair and John Fish will be using this program at Calais Elementary in the coming month.
Sadly, we have all become aware that sexual abuse of young children is more common in our society than we would like to believe. Accordingly, Vermont has passed Act 1 legislation that requires schools to help prevent child sexual abuse by educating both students and staff. Calais Elementary will meet the student education requirement by teaching the Care for Kids curriculum in grades K-3. The program is fun to learn, not scary, and works closely with parents. It is comprehensive and developmentally appropriate.
Come on Monday, January 6th, 5:00-6:30pm to learn more about what your children will learn, prevention of child sexual abuse, and get your questions answered. We hope to see you there!
