First and Second Grade News – June 5, 2015

Dear Families,
We have only 6 ½ school days left of the year!  The students have worked hard this week to complete many assessments and wrap up a variety of different projects.  Next week we will finish writing narrative books and making Eric Carle-like illustrations for these books.  We will also begin the classroom cleaning process, so please make sure students have backpacks to bring home all their classroom treasures.
It is “house cleaning” time and we would ask that you please carefully check your home for any books or supplies that belong here at school.  Specifically, we are looking for classroom books, library books, and coins that students may have earned for working hard, being safe, or being kind.  We will also be collecting students’ book bags at the end of the year.

Important Upcoming Dates:
LAST ECO FOR ALL 1st and 2nd Graders - Tuesday, June 9 @ 1:00-3:00
Step Up Day – Wednesday, June 10 9:00-9:45am
Paper Making Lesson with Chrissy – Wednesday, June 10 1:30-2:30pm

Recycling lesson with Chrissy

Today first and second graders learned about the recycling process. They learned what is and is not recyclable and what happens to the things we recycle after they leave our school and homes.
